| North Forest |
| Northern Wastes
Here, the Northern Forest fades into tundra, a blinding white world of ice. Few trees survive here, and those that do are severely dwarfed, reaching heights of only 7 to 10 feet. Most of the animals here are very small, but defend their territory fiercely. With temperatures often diving below -30 degrees, make sure you have the proper equipment.

| Heart of the Forest
The deepest, densest portion of the North Forest, west of Akala's territory. Even when the sun is high, the trees create a permanent dusk. The ground is littered with leaves and pine needles, creating a thick layer of loam. The lack of light means there is also a lack of other foliage. The centerpiece of the forest is a huge, ancient tree, the true Heart. This place is seen as sacred, a sanctuary from predators, with a quiet even the animals are loth to disturb.

| Akala's Territory
An area of about 83 square miles somewhere in the North Forest which the Sage shares with a small pack of grey wolves. Her house, now decrepit , molding, and long abandoned, marks the western border of her territory. About three miles northeast of her house lies a small village severely damaged by fire. The forest is well on it's way to reclaiming the area occupied by the village.

| Woodlands
The woodland proper is not known for anything special except for the large concentration of dryads in residence. But at least the woodlands are relatively safe to travel through.

| South Forest |
| Scythes Desert
A large desert split in two by a deep canyon, once guarded by Scythes Hunter, a mysterious figure avoided by nearly all sentient creatures. Rumor has it that the almost perfectly circular desert was created long ago by a magical blast of extreme intensity and size. Though Scythes may know the origin of the desert, she has disappeared, with no one suicidal enough to go after her.

| Cataluca Mountains
The Cataluca Mountains are a small volcanic range; they are partially responsible for the tropical climate, and the volcanic soil supports lush foliage. A few groups of people are daring enough to make use of the rich soil for their agriculture, but they keep an eye on the active volcanoes just the same.

| Sunless Rock Fields
The dense geyser fed fog that blankets these stony foot hills for miles on end makes seeing for even short distances difficult. The numerous geyser pits scattered about are steep and slippery, as wary travelers have discovered; as for the unwary... well, they have been thoroughly cooked.

| South Forest Ruins
A long-abandoned city ruin lies here, built by some long-forgotten race. Curiously, there seems to have been no reason for abandoning the city, and most possessions have been left behind. A little careful cleaning and selling of these artifacts would bring good coin, but the thick jungle that has taken over the ruins is almost impassable, and most never find the ruins.

| West Forest |
| Heart of the West Forest
Waterfalls lie to the north and hot springs towards the south. Fresh water is abundant in the West Forest, and danger is common. This is the home of the Sage of Water, who in recent years has disappeared. Many wonder if she has died and there is a new, undiscovered Sage. Travelers should be wary of the merfolk, who can be very territorial of their lakes, and of the sirens who like to lure travelers into the water and drown them.

| Halcyon Lake
A large, calm lake near the eastern border, fed by a stream whose origins can be traced to the mountains in the East Forest. True to its name, the immediate surroundings of the lake are rife with berry bushes and provide a relatively safe camping spot for even the most weary of travelers.

| East Forest |
| Fae Land
The land of the fae, territorial and mischievous creatures who have ruled the East for millennia. There is some speculation that the fae's wanton use of their magic over so many years has begun to pollute the land, causing many geographical disturbances and inconvenient rifts in time and space, through which objects (and sometimes people) from the past spontaneously appear. No items or people have yet appeared from the future, but it is presumed possible, keeping in mind that traveling to the past, or any time other than your own, is extremely dangerous. It is also theorized that a person or object can't exist in two places at the same time. Some claim if someone time-travels to a time in which they already exist, that person, as well as his copy, "shadows" himself and both die (what may be) a horrible death.
The east has occasionally had a bit of a problem with long-dead founders of the fae nation appearing and complaining with what has happened to their country since "the good old days". They may be safely ignored.

| Dragon-Back Ridge
A long chain of mountains that almost spans the entirety of the East Forest; the natives claim the chain resembles a sleeping dragon, and the few remaining dragons living are said to make their home in these mountains. Naturally the natives are somewhat reluctant to take up residence near them.

| Deepfall Caverns
An extensive cave network that honey combs most of Dragon Back Ridge. The clean water and cool air make the caverns home to dozens of cave dwelling creatures. Despite its countless entrances Deepfall remains largely unexplored.

| Eagle Peak
Travel through the narrow pass of this mountain generally occurs unmolested by the local gryphons. However, it should be noted that the gryphons have keen sight and hearing and are particularly vain of their appearance, so it would be wise not to criticize the local wildlife.
